Pool Equipment Diagnostics in Denver, CO
When a pump screams, suction drops, or a heater throws an error code, the goal is to find the root cause before any parts are ordered. Our equipment diagnostics inspect the whole pressure and suction loop and the electrical side of the pad - then we tell you exactly what we found.

Who this service is for
Best for homeowners noticing weird noises, air bubbles in the returns, pressure changes, error codes, or equipment that won't run as expected.
What's going wrong?
Pick the symptom that matches what you're seeing. Each path gives you a few safe things to note before you reach out - it's a starting point, not a confirmed diagnosis. We inspect the equipment before recommending anything.
Pump won't start
Safe observations to note
- Does it hum but not spin, or is it completely silent?
- Has the breaker tripped or the GFCI reset popped?
- Note the pump make and model from the motor label if you can see it safely.
A hum with no spin often points to a start capacitor or motor winding - but that's a starting point, not a confirmed cause. We test electrical draw before recommending parts.
A symptom is not a diagnosis
A screeching pump could be a worn shaft seal, a failing bearing, a clogged impeller, or a cavitation issue. A heater that won't fire could be a pressure switch, a flame sensor, or a control-board fault. Each one points to a different part and a different cost.
We diagnose the actual component before recommending a fix - so you don't pay to replace something that wasn't the problem.
0What the diagnostic covers
A diagnostic inspection walks through the pressure and suction loop and the electrical side of the pad to isolate the fault.
Diagnostic scope
- Pressure-gauge differential check and flow assessment
- Air-leak detection on suction lines and pump lid
- Electrical circuit and capacitor verification
- Multiport valve, actuator, and automation-controller inspection
Assessment and estimate
After the diagnostic you get a clear explanation of what we found, what the likely cause is, and what the repair path looks like - including any parts involved. We separate the diagnosis from the repair decision so you can choose how to proceed with the full picture.
Confirm any diagnostic-visit fee and estimate terms with us up front.
2Repair vs. replace decisions
Sometimes a seal or capacitor fixes the problem; sometimes a pump is beyond economic repair and a variable-speed upgrade is the better long-term call. We lay out both options with the trade-offs - energy savings, noise, reliability - and let you decide. We don't push a replacement to make a sale.
3What diagnostics does not include
Diagnostics don't include speculative parts swapping, high-voltage utility-line work past the pad disconnect, or structural/underground leak repair. We also don't service above-ground pools, and repair options on above-ground systems are limited. If your issue points there, we tell you and refer appropriately rather than guessing on site.
4Help the diagnostic land right the first time
- Pool or spa? Make and model of the problem equipment if you know it
- The symptom - noise, no prime, error code, cold water, pressure spike
- When it started and anything that changed recently
- Photos of the pad or error display if you can take them
